WP6 and author's emphasis

Postby Kathie in VA » Thu Jul 25, 2013 9:37 pm

WP6 'In Media Res' [core p. 324]
Step 3 Draft: says to use your skills from WP2 to determine the author's emphasis in a scene. It then goes on to suggest ways to depict your opening scene.
Do we mimic the author's emphasis or are we creating our own emphasis for this new opening scene?

thanks,
Kathie

Kathie,

You can do the writing project either way. Once the author's emphasis has been determined, you can choose to mimic it or to create a new emphasis. It's a 'teacher's choice' or 'student's choice'.
